IFRAH MANSOUR: How Can We Make Minnesota Better for Black Lives? on the Cedar Public Access Channel
Thursday, June 4th, 2020 / Livestreamed at 7:30pm
Ifrah Mansour discusses her aqal of hope and interviews The Cedar's Executive Director David Hamilton as well as various community members, asking for their perspectives on what they think will make life better for Black Minnesotans, where they find hope, and their thoughts on the current movement.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
In the weeks following the killing of George Floyd on May 25th, 2020, the Twin Cities has gone through and continues to go through something really important and difficult right now, and The Cedar wants to clearly state: we support the #BlackLivesMatter movement.
In that spirit, we are refocused our energy for our first Cedar Public Access Channel program by livestreaming a public art project with with Cedar Artist Collective member, Ifrah Mansour, from The Cedar’s Plaza. In it, Ifrah discusses her mural project that asks neighbors in Cedar Riverside, “How can we make Minnesota better for Black lives?”

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
All programs will be available for free with a suggested donation of $10 to cover the costs of the program. All artists will be paid. If you’re able, please help keep The Cedar going strong at https://thecedar.org/donate
