Night 2 of the Global Roots Festival featured the smooth improvisations of J.A.S.S. Quartet (India/LA) and the avant-garde sounds of Lautari (Poland). At intermission, staff surprised Booking Coordinator Grace Evenson with roses on her birthday. Thanks to all who came out to the Festival last night!
The party continues tonight, rain or shine! Join us for the final night of the Global Roots Festival, starting at 6pm, with a special Minnesota United FC pre-performance party, taking place on the Plaza if it’s sunny out, or in The Cedar’s hall in case of rain.
Meet-and-greet players from Minnesota’s Major League soccer team, Minnesota United, take photos with the Minnesota United photobooth, meet the West Bank Athletic Club, buy merch, eat free snacks and appetizers, and enjoy a 7:00pm set by Breck Academy’s marimba band, BATO BATO. The night culminates with performances beginning at 7:30pm by SK Kakraba (Ghana/LA), virtuosic xylophone master player and crafter, and Palenke Soultribe (Colombia/LA), a live trio fusing electronic sounds with Afro-Colombian rhythms.
