The Global Roots Festival culminated on Wednesday, September 20th with a night of music, soccer, and celebration. With severe rain on the horizon, the Minnesota United FC pre-performance party moved indoors to The Cedar’s hall. Attendees met Minnesota United soccer players, danced as BATO BATO (Breck Academy’s Marimba band) rocked the floor, and made friends with PK, the Minnesota United mascot.
Later in the night, as rain poured down outside, Ghanian gyil virtuoso SK Kakraba captivated the crowd, Minnesota United team President Nicholas Rogers gave a keynote speech, and Palenke Soultribe launched a late-night dance party.
Thanks to all who joined us for the 2016 Global Roots Festival! We can’t wait for next year.
