Volunteer options at The Cedar

New to volunteering at The Cedar? Here’s the rundown on all the different shifts you can sign up for. You can volunteer as much as you would like at shifts that work for you. At any given show, we have up to 20 volunteers assisting with various tasks essential to helping our events run smoothly. Scroll through the photos below to learn about each shift.

 

Set Up: Set up the theater before shows: arrange seating, clean up around the property, and prepare the theater for the evening. This shift typically goes from 5:15-7pm. This is a great position for early birds who want to see the entire show.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tickets: Welcome concert-goers as the first face of The Cedar while selling and checking tickets. The first shift typically runs from 6:30 to around 9pm and the second shift begins at around 9pm and goes until the end of the show. These shifts include handling ticket sales and money, taking tickets, distributing will call tickets, and being a welcoming presence at the door. The perfect shift for a friendly people-person!

 

Usher: Usher customers to their chairs at shows with reserved seating. This shift typically goes from 6:30 until around 9pm and includes directing customers to their proper seats in the center section or general admission.

 

CD Sales: Sell artists’ CDs and T-shirts to fans at the merch table. This shift begins at 6:30pm and goes until the end of the show. The CD sales shift includes handling money and processing credit cards, taking stock of merchandise before and after the event, and greeting customers with excellent customer service. This is a great position for those who like to see the show up close.

 

Concessions: Serve concessions at the main concession stand. The first shift typically goes from 6:30 until around 9pm and the second shift goes from 9pm until the end of the show. This position consists of serving snacks as well as hot and cold beverages, restocking the cooler, cleaning, and washing dishes. Concessions volunteers must be age 18 or over.

 

C2: Serve beverages from the in-theater concession stand with a great view of the show. This shift begins at 6:30 and goes until around 9pm. This shift includes serving beverages and restocking the cooler. Concessions volunteers must be age 18 or over.

 

Clean Up: Earn 4x the volunteer credit by cleaning up the theater and resetting the venue after shows. This shift typically begins at 9:30 or 10:00pm and includes picking up and taking out trash and recycling, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dishwashing, and moving folding chairs. This is a great position for those who want to see the entire show and bring a friend along.
