Video: Waayaha Cusub Visits the Southside Boys & Girls Club

This October, Waayaha Cusub, a Somali hip-hop collective that has performed worldwide promoting peace and anti-extremism, visited the Southside Boys & Girls Club in St. Cloud as part of their Midnimo residency. Together, encouraged the kids to write music and lyrics about a common theme; their neighborhood. Midnimo, the Somali word for “unity,” is a program that features Somali artists from Minnesota and around the world in residencies and events that increase understanding of Somali culture through music.
