Come early and stay for the whole evening, or drop in for an hour or so and sample some of the best acoustic music around in optimal listening room conditions. Tonight’s special holiday edition of The 416 Club is curated and hosted by Free Range Pickin’. FRP is an acoustic string band that synthesizes bluegrass, folk, and songwriter sensibilities into its original songs and imaginative arrangements. The quartet’s eclectic approach, based on lush four-part harmonies and energetic instrumentation (mandolin, banjo, guitar and upright bass), has won fans throughout the Midwest and led to Minnesota Music Academy Award nominations for best band and best recording in the Bluegrass / Old-Time category. They'recently released their third album Flight Risk. For some years now, they have brought the warmth of the fireside to The Cedar with a special holiday themed show in mid-December. This year, we all get to celebrate with Free Range Pickin' AND friends Steve Kaul and Dave Babb, Roe Family Singers, and the Twin Cities Playboys.
