Just announced! In the wake of him selling out two shows at the Guthrie Theater this weekend, violinist/singer/songwriter/whistler extraordinaire Andrew Bird will drop in at The Cedar this Sunday (2pm Dec 16) for an intimate afternoon concert. He'll be showcasing songs from his new album Armchair Apocrypha, as well as some older material, and will be supported by Martin Dosh and Jeremy Ylvisaker. Following on from 2005’s The Mysterious Production of Eggs, Armchair Apocrypha has something for everyone, with songs about dark matter, plane crashes, the Scythian Empire, and the Apocalypse, and lots of unexpected, delightful twists and turns. A unique convergence of folk, pop, gypsy jazz, and even classical influences! Limited seating. All ages are welcome for this windfall of an opportunity to turn an ordinary winter's afternoon into something very special indeed--as all Andrew's concerts end up being. A portion of the proceeds shall benefit CEDAR CULTURAL CENTER capital projects.
