Tim Fite
Tim Fite's show is like a multi-media multi-vitamin; at first, it looks like it might be a bit challenging to gulp down, but once you do, you’ll feel like a million bucks and won't want to wait for your next dose. Incorporating clever songwriting, compelling narrative projections, and vaudevillainous showmanship, Fite's performance is wildly captivating. Every aspect of the seamless show is accompanied by painstakingly produced visual content that makes the whole greater than the sum of it's many many many parts.
Tim Fite has garnered rave reviews and ravenous fans for his two proper albums released by ANTI- as well as a few he's released on his own website and iTunes for FREE download prior to those nice Radiohead fellows. In fact, Over The Counter Culture, a blistering, hip-hop based 15-track examination of commercial culture, has been downloaded over 100,000 times, and was named one of the best albums of the year by the likes of The Chicago Tribune, The Los Angeles Times, and NPR.
Oh, but there’s so much more...a work in progress, a constant evolution, a growing up on record and on stage that several bio writers have come to tears over. There’s blues, there’s folky/indie/alt-country, there’s Halloween records only available for download on October 31st, and there’s tons of artwork, video, audience participation, and occasionally watermelons and gumball machines at select festivals. But in spite of it all, Tim Fite carries an unmistakable burden with an earnestness that is disarming, intimidating, and welcoming all at the same time.
Tim is currently working on his proper follow-up to Fair Ain't Fair, due out on ANTI- in 2011.
