Cedar Family presents Ellis Paul
"Noted folk singer-songwriter Ellis Paul serves up a deft, soulful acoustic mix of American folk and contemporary pop in songs that find magic in road trips, dragonflies, "The Star Inside the Apple" and swings and pinwheels - simple pleasures. Traditional folk themes of world peace and harmony resonate with immediacy, but are delivered with a gentle touch ("The Million Chameleon March," "The Little Red Rose")." (The Dragonfly Races, Parents' Choice Silver Award winner 2008)
Cedar Family presents Bunny Clogs featuring Adam Levy of The Honeydogs
"It is 11 a.m. on a -5 degree Saturday morning. Inside the Cedar Cultural Center, little girls and boys are twirling and dancing, small arms and legs akimbo and flailing around the crowded room. Parents are smiling at each other. This morning Adam Levy, dressed in a goofy white jumpsuit and black top hat, is the ecstatic pied piper leading the merry band -- Bunny Clogs are rocking the house in celebration of the release of their first CD entitled More! More! More!" (Michelle Leon, City Pages 1/26/09) Read more »
Cedar Family presents The Sweet Colleens with Minneapolis Youth Chorus
The Monkey Dance: All the Kids Are Doin' It is the first foray into kids music by The Sweet Colleens, but the genre is clearly a natural fit for these good-natured denizens of the local roots music world. The songs included on the new CD are aimed at listeners age 2 to 9; however, in the tradition of kids records by artists such as Dan Zanes and Greg Brown, the CD has plenty of appeal for parents and older siblings. Gustafer Yellowgold TARGET FAMILY SERIES AT THE CEDAR
Gustafer Yellowgold concerts are a unique blend of live music and moving image. The minimally animated illustrations are accompanied by illustrator/songwriter Morgan Taylor’s catchy and original story-songs for a truly different multimedia experience that is entrancing children, teens and adults alike. Gustafer is a friendly creature who came to Earth from the sun and has an unusual magnetism for making friends with some of Earth's odder creatures.
Bunny Clogs: Children's Music featuring ADAM LEVY of The Honeydogs TARGET FAMILY SERIES AT THE CEDAR
There's no pandering to the little ones on Minneapolis singer/songwriter Adam Levy's children's album. He offers funk, jazz, rock and hip-hop songs about lima beans, potatoes and road trips. Terrific, tasty stuff for the entire family. (Pick Six, Jon Bream, Minneapolis Star Tribune 01/08/09) Read more »
