Brandt Brauer Frick

Fusing elements of organic techno and classical, the music of German trio Brandt Brauer Frick refuses to be easily categorized. Their new album Mr Machine puts them alongside such names as Steve Reich and Philip Glass, but with considerably more groove. Join them on their first appearance in Minnesota, in a year which has seen the rapidly rising act perform at Coachella, Glastonbury, The Big Chill and numerous other leading edge festivals.

Opening will be local electronica artist Cepia, aka Huntley Miller.

Zoë Keating

Perhaps you came to know Zoë Keating through her Twitter presence (@zoecello has over 1.3 million followers!), but behind the stream of witty 140-character communiques lies a phenomenally talented cellist. Zoë's richly complex layered avant cello music has been featured in movie and documentary soundtracks, ballet productions and in collaborations with a host of artists from Rasputina to Imogen Heap, but it is best savored center-stage in one of Zoë's far too rare solo live performances.

Novalima with Peña

Novalima, photo by Yayo Lopez

Afro-Peruvian tradition collides with modern production techniques to create an infectious hybrid. (Jason Bentley, Morning Becomes Eclectic, KCRW)

Like Gotan Project at their best, this Afro-Peruvian outfit takes the rhythmic and melodic forms of its traditional music and make something wholly vital and contemporary out of them. Muscular, idiosyncratic grooves. (The Independent, UK)

With their unique fusion of Afro-Peruvian soul with dub, salsa, hip-hop, Afrobeat, breakbeat and house music, Novalima has earned raves from trend-setting DJs and journalists and has developed a wide following across the globe.
