Global Roots Festival 2010 brings in the big brass to kick things off: the wild gypsy brass music of Mahala Rai Banda (Romania), and the funky dhol 'n' brass North Indian Bhangra fusion of NYC's Red Baraat. Both bands are renowned for the incredible energy they bring to their live performances.

Balkan Beat Box is centered around its two founders: saxophone player Ori Kaplan and drummer/programmer/producer Tamir Muskat. After having been active for over a decade in some of NYC's premier underground bands (including Gogol Bordello, Firewater, Big Lazy, Shotnez), they joined forces with charismatic MC Tomer Yosef and brought together their combined experiences and ideas to create the powerhouse called Balkan Beat Box. Welcome BBB back to The Cedar as they play tracks from their brand new album Blue Eyed Black Boy (out April 27).
