Concerts for Youth partners with Project SUCCESS, Project for Pride in Living, local colleges, and middle and high schools to bring K-12 and college students to educational events and engaging public concert performances. The program provides free admission and transportation to concert events, as well as the opportunity to participate in special hands-on workshops and artist residencies. Participating classroom teachers work to incorporate performances into their core curriculum, and our partners also provide childcare and other opportunities for parents to accompany their students to events and workshops.
Program goals:
- maximize the impact of partering schools and organizations serving youth in the Twin Cities Metro Area
- build participation in the arts by increasing access with free admission and special outreach efforts, especially for underserved communities and youth
- promote inter-cultural learning, appreciation, and interaction by facilitating education about different cultures through music and dance performance, lectures, workshops, and lessons
- Introduce audiences to new music
