Dance Band "Through the storms"By popular demand, a return appearance by Dance Band, a mere five months after the memorable celebration at The Cedar of their most recent EP, Geekadelic. If you were at that show, or even if you weren't, you should be warned that  DB lives up to their hype in giving one of the most entertaining live shows in Minneapolis.  You WILL dance!

"Dance Band seems to come from both another time and another planet, but a planet where disco and funk are things citizens are required to do before breakfast each morning." - howwastheshow.com

"It seems a band with a name this overt must either be ironic or doomed to failure. But Dance Band has successfully transcended the pinnacle of sarcasm to voyage in a whole new land of sincerity. They want you to dance as they sing in matching jumpsuits (or equally audacious costuming) about clapping, dancing, and riding bicycles- and you probably will. This is becuase Dance Band is the love child of a late night rendezvous between Devo and P-Funk on Seasame Street. -vita.mn

Also on the bill tonight, Military Special, hot on the heels of their early March release of their debut album Civil Union, and a month-long residency at the Nomad, and featuring regular fixture at The Cedar, House Manager Charlie Smith.

“Military Special have charted their own detour around the monolithic digital divide, that gulf of wires and pixels that separates the circuit from the soul. They are energetic and determined, and their music is benevolence in a gleaming minor chord which never fails to menace a crowd into a dance pit.” (CIty Pages)
