It's now nearly 19 years since first coming together and with four of the original members still at the helm, Dervish are more in demand than ever. Their colorful career has taken them to every corner of the globe and has seen them share centre stage with such names as James Brown, The Buena Vista Social Club, Oasis, Sting, REM, Beck and many more. Dervish' musical genius and innovative approach will ensure that they will be always be a leading force in Irish music bringing the world the joy and excitement and fun that is traditional Irish music. In October 2007, Dervish released to great acclaim their long awaited new album “Traveling Show.”

Ever imaginative, their latest album features new arrangements of rare and unusual traditional songs such as Lord Levett, with a new melody written by Cathy Jordan. Jordan also sings a spine-tingling rendition of Suzanne Vegas’ The Queen and the Soldier, with enchanting results. Newly composed material, Crucán na bPáiste by Brendan Graham and Grainne by Nashville song-writer Sharon Vaughan and Cathy Jordan, is tender and moving; while My Bride and I is a hauntingly enigmatic tale written by Canadian Dan Frechette. For those who like their traditional music fast and furious, Dervish prove their muster with their trademark high-energy instrumentals. In essence, Travelling Show shows Dervish at their best – a band constantly reinventing themselves and exploring new musical territory while keeping in touch with their traditional roots.

"Travelling Show is moody, soulful and epic. Cathy Jordan is at the forefront and she shreds the rulebook and pulls the best vocal performances of her career." (Hot Pres)

"Dervish’s attention to tunes render them with an undeniable effervescence. “The Masters Return” captures the incendiary quality of the band’s live performances, the driving percussive forces of bouzouki and guitar propelling fiddle and flute towards delirious infinity." (The Irish Times)
