Please join us for the tenth and final annual Nordic Roots Festival. Artists scheduled to perform in 2008 include many of the artists who have transformed this weekend into an annual pilgrimage of Nordic bliss for so many people: Väsen, Hedningarna, Detektivbyrån, Triakel, Frigg, Waltz With Me featuring Annbjørg Lien and Bruce Molsky, Hoven Droven and Hurdy Gurdy.

DetektivbyrånHedningarna's world is a place where primal folk music collides with sampling and programming, forging a new direction. Hedningarna, "the heathens" in English, drive ancient Nordic music into the modern era paying no attention to the rules of the road. Their newly created tunes are an extension of the living tradition inspired by the melodies of their forebears. The intensity of modern technology mixed with the flavor of ancient instruments and tunes creates the explosive, intense sound of Hedningarna.

Detektivbyrån joins Hedningarna this evening. Detektivbyrån, also referred to as DBY, is a three piece band from Sweden, with a strong emphasis on glockenspiel and accordion. Since 2005 they have performed their melody driven pling-plong tunes. Detektivbyrån is glockenspiel ´n´ accordion on top of fuzzy
beats, swinging hugs and sweet respect. Detektivbyrån is as honest as it's possible to be nowadays.
