Fiery Gypsy brass, soulful Balkan anthems, and hip-grinding American funk: Slavic Soul Party is just what it says. Brash and strong as slivovitz, these nine musicians have forged a virtuosic new brass band music in the heart of New York City—melding Gypsy, East European, Mexican, and Asian immigrant backgrounds with American jazz and soul—and “developed a reputation for delivering a great time” (New York Times)

One of the hardest working bands in New York, SSP! plays nearly 100 times a year in the US, Europe, and beyond, from Lincoln Center to Midwestern steelworker dive bars, from skatepunk tours to Turkish palaces. Increasingly celebrated as “the best band in New York City right now” (WFMU), this energetic and innovative group has won fans from across the musical spectrum, sharing bills with Gogol Bordello, Philip Glass, and Saban Bajramovic. On their Fall 2006 US tour, SSP! proudly introduces vocalist Eva Salina Primack, an entrancing rising star of Balkan and Gypsy singing. Slavic Soul Party! also features Gypsy accordionist Peter Stan along with other top players in NYC's Gypsy punk, jazz, and Latin scenes. If you liked Balkan Beat Box last Friday, you will LOVE Slavic Soul Party!
