An evening of creative energy released from the fusion of two great musical traditions: south Indian classical music and jazz. Featuring renowned vocalist and veena player
Nirmala Rajasekar, jazz bassist Anthony Cox, and percussionists Srini (mridangam) and Marcus Wise (tabla).

The genesis of Carnatic Energy comes from Nirmala's and Anthony's beliefs that artistic collaboration can be an effective vehicle of communication among diverse peoples of the world, and from their desire to work together to explore and share the two traditions they are each most familiar with. Nirmala was chosen as an Artistic Fellow by Bush Foundation in May 2006.
