Bluesman Guy Davis has dedicated himself to reviving the traditions of acoustic blues and bringing them to as many ears as possible through his interpretations of the material of the great blues masters, African American stories, and his own original songs, stories and performance pieces. Tonight he will be celebrating the release of his eighth recording, Skunkmello, on Red House Records. Cosponsored by

“Skunkmello … incites a frisson of delight in the inner ear. This native New Yorker is many things to listeners—a curator of black folk-blues, an exemplar of storytelling, an exceedingly sharp singer, banjo, harmonica and guitar player, and not least an honest-as-the-day-is-long humanist….Look no further for the most outstanding blues album of the past few years, one that likely won’t ever wear out its welcome.” (Frank-John Hadley, Downbeat, five-star review)

"Guy Davis exudes wise and joyous earthiness...authoritatively reclaims a
positive black music legacy." (Sacramento News and Review)

I'm sure that it'll be wonderful. By the way, I volunteer for a community radio station where Guy Davis is happily played on the airwaves. http://www.wfhb.org
