A-listed female singer-songwriter night at The Cedar: Alice Peacock, and Alicia Wiley. Better than a trip down the rabbit-hole, better than a mad-hatters tea-party, enough to make even the Mock Turtle stop crying... White Bear Lake-native Alice Peacock has just released her fourth album, Love Remains, described by the now Chicago-based singer/songwriter as "a really positive record...It's a reflection of where I am in my life and what really matters to me now. The title comes from this idea that other things fade away but love remains." The often buoyant, outwardly focused lyrics are mirrored by a largely ebullient musical approach rife with feel-good guitar hooks and heartland grooves. Alicia WileyOpener Alicia Wiley is a rare talent with amazing command of the piano, her voice, and the art of songwriting. Her piano chops have been steeped in classical and jazz, while her songwriting reflects strong pop influences. She is just as likely to be inspired by Miles Davis and John Coltrane as she is by Bjork and the Smashing Pumpkins. It is Alicia's ability to move deftly between pop melodies and jazz improvisation that has fans singing her praise. In this exciting age of genre-bending music, Alicia is one rapidly emerging starlet that should not be missed.
