Lucy Michelle & The Velvet Lapelles CD release concert with Chris Thomson Quartet & Northern Howl
It's Special Party Time For Everybody, the name of Lucy Michelle and the Velvet Lapetlle's new CD, AND what you'll be doing. Lucy's debut CD Orange Peels and Rattlesnakes made a huge splash upon release, and Lucy and the band followed up with a year of what must have been an at times gruelling performance schedule. Now it's time to party!
For starters, don't miss the minimal acoustoelectronic sounds of Chris Thomson and his quartet, including James Buckley, Patrick Harrison and Sean Carey (Bon Iver), and, just added, Northern Howl, whose recent release All That's Under the Night Sky was described by City Pages as "a record full of vocal harmonies and simple but elegantly layered strings and trumpets, with a stated indebtedness to Sufjan Stevens but also a shimmering '60s-pop feel."
