So Dark You SeeThe annual Cedar show by quintessential Red House singer-songwriter John Gorka! Tonight, John will be celebrating the release of his 11th album, So Dark You See. The album looks back to his roots in traditional folk music with a contemporary feel.  Heralded as one of the founders of the New Folk movement that triggered today's explosive proliferation of singer-songwriters, John has earned his place as an honored icon of the folk tradition. His trademark is energetic acoustic music that is not a trend, not a fad, but an expression of everyday life. On So Dark You See, John delivers an ambitious and striking collection of songs with a thematic complexity that digs into the darkness of the human condition and drags it back out into the light. Like the lone skeleton of a tree on the cover that has weathered the storm, John's words part the clouds to reassure the listener that once you can see through the darkness there is hope on the horizon. Live in performance, John's rich baritone voice, unique songcraft and gentle, slightly self-deprecating delivery weave a magical spell that can only be described as Gorka-esque.

"Gorka is widely heralded for the sophisticated intelligence and provocative originality of his songs." - Boston Globe
