"a collection of shuffling folk-pop confessionals that dresses up
Morris's simple strumming and plaintive, subdued tenor in beautiful
accoutrements (most prominently cello, pedal steel, and some lovely
female harmony vocals). It's a remarkably assured and focused
collection, sounding more like the work of an artist hitting mid-career
stride than a full-length debut...With the ethos of Brother Ali beating in his heart and the sweeping
folk-rock songwriting of Fleet Foxes in his hands, Morris's future
looks bright" (Rob Van Alstyne, City Pages)

Join Michael Morris and friends as they celebrate the release of Dewi Sant's debut album May on Northfield's Plastic Horse Records. Beautiful melodic songs that lollop along at a leisurely pace…
"His songs consist of slow, sprawling melodies and meandering crescendos, and his emotions come across in waves through his lyrics and soft vocal nuances. He plays music that is at once rhythmic and still." - howwastheshow.com

The Starfolk is a musical enterprise just lifting off; featuring members of Minneapolis indie pop mainstays "The Owls" and "The Hang Ups," The Starfolk bandmates Brian Tighe, Allison LaBonne, Stephen Ittner and Jacqueline Ultan make music combining elements ranging from chamber pop to psych/folk/rock to atmospheric/experimental.

Minnesota songbird Alison Rae wrote her first song at the age of 4 (with a little help from Auntie Jill)... now 29, she is still writing songs and performing with the likes of Mindy Smith and Julie Lee. You may have heard Alison Rae and her 1949 Gibson guitar on MPR’s The Morning Show, 89.3 The Current’s Local Show, or Ellen Stanley’s Womenfolk on KFAI. You may have seen her at favorite Twin Cities venues like the Bryant Lake Bowl theater, the Turf Club, the Fine Line Music Cafe or in the basement of Java Jacks, at Jim Walsh’s Hootenanny. Her 2007 selftitled debut album features such luminaries as Noah Levy, Joe Savage, Tim Frantzich, John Munson, Peter Ostroushko and Dan Chouinard.

“The Twin Cities music scene is propped up by an army of young songwriters with old souls ... One of the most arresting is Alison Rae, a Shoreview native whose voice and songs come at you with all the power and hype of a falling snowflake.” ...her talent has instantly hushed the room.” Jim Walsh, MinnPost December 2007
