FREE! Bouncer Fighter, Hawks and Oxen, The Minute Intentions of a Boa Constrictor, and Holly Newsom (of Zoo Animal)

Wednesday, May 5, 2010 - 7:30pm
7:00pm
FREE! No advance tickets required.

An all ages, free event hosted by Liminal. Liminal is a student-run literary journal produced through The Wake Student Magazine at the University of Minnesota. Liminal showcases student art to better promote and involve the community in local art and contribute to the increasingly dynamic and active voices in the Twin Cities area.

With music ranging from deep organ dirges to lighthearted anthems, Bouncer Fighter mixes the anxious and jumpy side of rock with the coarse and natural state of country and western-folk music like no other local act.  Two brothers with short attention spans and loud instruments, The Minute Intentions of a Boa Constrictor are working on a formula to play riffs for just long enough to get them stuck in your head, and then move on. Perhaps one of the most unique and beautiful voices in the Twin Cities makes any project of Holly Newsom something worth listening to. If her successful local grunge band Zoo Animal is the epitome of artistic focus, then consider Holly's solo material an unfiltered portrait of an artist: intimate and uninhibited. And, in keeping with the emerging zoological theme of the evening, Hawks and Oxen have been yoked into performing a set.

inBOIL, originally scheduled to perform, have apparently gone off the boil, and will no longer be on the bill.

FREE! All Cedar shows are all ages.
