Not Quite Dead and Not Quite Old and In the Way
Join in the fun for a great cause as two local bands perform acoustic and electric sets of classic music, and help raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
First up tonight will be the Chris Silver Band, performing as Not Quite Old and In the Way. Chris Silver, an accomplished roots musician and leukemia survivor, will lead his band in an acoustic tribute to the one-of-a-kind 1973 bluegrass classic Old and In the Way, along with some of his original songs, and Grateful Dead and other covers. Chris says, "I have always loved the Dead and their various projects, especially the once-in-a- lifetime gathering of bluegrass superstars in "Old and In the Way" project. To be able to celebrate that music, and help a cause near and dear to me, is a thrill."
Closing the show will be Not Quite Dead, playing an electric set that captures the spirit of the Grateful Dead. Their energetic and celebratory renderings of Grateful Dead tunes have gained the band a keen following among Grateful Dead enthusiasts and jam band aficionados. "We are honored and excited to be on the bill with Chris Silver and playing the music we love for such a great cause," says Brian Johnson, lead singer and guitarist for the band.
A portion of the proceeds from tonight's show will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
The Cedar is now fully air-conditioned for your year-round comfort!
