Adrian Belew Power Trio & Stick Men featuring Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto

Two of a Perfect Trio Tour
Sunday, October 9, 2011 - 7:30pm
7:00pm
$65 VIP, $45 Center, $35 GA; Seated show

King Crimson players Adrian Belew, Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto keep very busy individually when Crimson's not active, but now, a historic joint tour: Adrian Belew Power Trio will headline the bill, with Stick Men (featuring Tony and Pat) opening.

And of course, how could they resist joining together for a Crim-centric extended encore - after their respective sets we'll see them reconfigure as Ade/Tony/Pat trio, morphing into the double trio lineup like King Crimson featured in the 90's. The tour name, 2 of a Perfect Trio, harkens to the King Crimson song "3 of a Perfect Pair"

Adrian Belew's trio features the amazing bassist Julie Slick, and NYC drummer Tobias Ralph - perfect complements to Belew's extraordinary guitar playing and singing.

Stick Men presents Tony Levin's virtuosic playing on the Chapman Stick, with Pat Mastelotto giving his unique progressive drumming on both acoustic and electronic drums. Markus Reuter rounds out the band, playing his self-designed touch style guitar.

For the extended “Crim-centric” encore, fans will be treated to the three Crimson members Belew, Levin and Mastelotto, covering some of their favorite pieces from their work in King Crimson.

“King Crimson is an elite club,” says Belew. “There have only been seven members in the last 30 years. Having Tony, Pat and myself onstage, three legitimate Crimson players, will make this as close as currently possible to the actual thing.”

The Cedar is now fully air-conditioned for your year-round comfort!

You don't want to miss this show.  I have always been a fan of King Crimson but both of thse trios were amazing.  There was this Austrian guy play a touch guitar in stickmen and with the drummer from King Crimson and Tony Levine it was great.  Adrian Belew's power trio was incredible and when they all took the stage , well it was one of the most impressive musical performances I'd ever seen and the player's were having a blast which made the show all the more enjoyable.  The venue was sold out standing room only.  I hope they come come back soon.
