...oozes New York: the energy and intensity, the rhythms and diversity, the despair and hope, the grit and greatness. (Jon Bream, Star Tribune)

Legendary NYC singer-songwriter, performer and recording artist, Garland Jeffreys and his Band will "R.O.C.K., rock" the roof off The Cedar!

A savvy street poet and charismatic live performer, Garland Jeffreys has been making provocative rock 'n' roll since the late 1960s. The Brooklyn native's edgy immediacy and literate, emotionally raw lyrics helped to turn such Jeffreys albums as One-Eyed Jack, Ghost Writer, American Boy and Girl and Escape Artist into critically acclaimed classics, yielding such indelible radio anthems as "Wild in the Streets," "Matador," "R.O.C.K." and Jeffreys' hit cover of Question Mark and the Mysterians' garage nugget "96 Tears."

Over the course of his career, Jeffreys has collaborated with such notable contemporaries as Lou Reed, Dr. John, David Johansen, Sonny Rollins, Sly and Robbie and Bruce Springsteen. His masterful compositions have been covered by a wide range of acts from punk pioneers the Circle Jerks to contemporary alt-folk-rockers Vetiver.

Jeffreys' 2011 album The King of In Between won him worldwide acclaim from fans and critics, including Jon Bream of the Minneapolis Star Tribune who wrote, it “is as impressive as any late-career masterworks by Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan or Paul Simon."

Jeffreys and his 4-piece band will play classics from his back catalog as well as new tracks from his latest album Truth Serum, scheduled for release on September 17, 2013. Jeffreys will also ‘meet and greet’ fans after the show.

This promises to be an unforgettable evening with Garland Jeffreys and his Band!

Jake Clemons - nephew of the late saxophonist Clarence Clemons and current member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band - will make his Twin Cities solo debut and open the show with his own rock/rootsy/Americana style band. His discography includes the 2011 digital bandcamp EP IT'S ON and his brand new single You Must Be Crazy.
