Meklit Hadero with M.anifest
Global Roots Festival 2010
Global Roots Festival 2010 pays tribute to community and a sense of place. The first concert as part of our new community access initiative funded by the Minnesota State Arts Board through "Legacy Amendment" funding will feature Ehiopian-born singer Meklit Hadero, whose sound NPR recently described as "a unique blend of jazz, Ethiopia, artsy San Francisco and visceral poetry." Opening this show will be the Ghanian-born Twin Cities based Hip Hop poet M.anifest, whom the Star Tribune called "a rapper from Ghana who's as smart as Talib Kweli and as funky as Kanye West."
