Springtime Salsa Fiesta embraces spring’s spirit of renewal by donating 25% of ticket sales to recovery and rebuilding efforts in Japan.

Springtime Salsa Fiesta will feature 16-piece all-star salsa orchestra La Gran Charanga, the Robert Everest World Music Quartet, Latin DJ Fatty, outdoor patio music, cigar rolling, visual art, face painting, pro dancers, drink specials, and a wide open dance floor for salsa. ALL FOR ONLY $10!! Attendees ALSO receive a FREE ticket to the after party at Aqua Nightclub in downtown Minneapolis!

7-9 PM OUTDOORS The Robert Everest World Quartet performs in the patio space. There will also be with cigar rolling, face painting, & interactive visual art.

8-9 PM INDOORS Salsa spinner DJ Fatty mixes for a wide open dance floor. A beginning salsa lesson is offered up at 8:45 pm.

9 PM-12 AM INDOORS Salsa performed by 16-piece super band, LA GRAN CHARANGA. The group features top local Latin artists from Charanga Tropical, Sensación Latina, Salsabrosa, Salsa del Soul, Seven Steps To Havana, and others. Group repertoire includes classic cumbias, romantic boleros, hip shaking merengues, and salsa, salsa, salsa! This is music that is great for listening, excellent for dancing, and fantastic for a fiesta.

The evening's carnival will also include performances by professional Latin dancers, mask art, and break music salsa spins by DJ Fatty.

Representatives from the Japan America Society of Minnesota will be on hand to accept additional earthquake relief donations.

This activity is funded, in part, by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund as appropriated by the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4, 2008.
