Every year, The Cedar needs to raise $100,000 from patrons like you to support our programs. With your help, we are able to present the great performers we’ve always brought to the Twin Cities, expand and diversify our programming, and increase access with strategic partnerships and free events. We want as many people as possible to enjoy live music at The Cedar. This summer, your donations support these activities that increase access:

  • Concerts for Youth (in partnership with Project SUCCESS) provides public school students with free tickets and transportation to Cedar events. Last year, we served 2,000 youth through this program.
  • Next season, we will launch Cedar Avenue to Art, a new program that engages the Twin Cities' East African community with Cedar programming (made possible with funding from the Minnesota State Arts Board from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund).
  • Cedar Outdoors features free music on The Cedar’s patio every Thursday night in July: Yet another way for more people to enjoy live music.
  • We keep our ticket prices low: The expenses to put on a concert event are always greater than what ticket revenues alone cover

We rely on contributions to make our programming possible and accessible. If we raise $10,000 to support our access programs by September 9th, we will celebrate by kicking off our 2010/2011 season with a free concert event on our patio on that same day. Read more here.
