| About Adrienne Pierce |
I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)

Several of my songs have been heard in major television shows such as Grey's Anatomy, Veronica Mars, The Hills, Dirt, Army Wives, The L Word, Greek etc. I have played everything from Lilith Fair to The Cavern Club in Liverpool. I recently toured for three months across North America and also performed live on the BBC.
My first album, Small Fires, received great reviews and all the songs were licensed to television shows. I followed this album up with an EP called Hors D'Oeuvres when two of my demos were used on Grey's Anatomy and Veronica Mars. These placement of my songs on very popular television shows and the inclusion of my song "Lost and Found" on the Veronica Mars Soundtrack Album created a demand for the songs. Second Cup also released an EP of mine called Exit which was available exclusively at their shops across Canada. I released two original Christmas songs as an EP and Canadian Tire also used my Christmas songs on their promotional album last winter (2007). Canadian Tire released 600,000 of these discs. My latest full length album Faultline was released in 2007 and was produced by Jeff Trott (Sheryl Crow) and Thom Russo (8 time grammy award winner) and features performances by many past and present members of Beck's band including Justin Meldal Johnson, Lyle Workman, Joey Waronker Victor Indrizzo and Roger Manning. Faultine has become very popular with my fans and has earned many new fans for me as songs from the album have been on The Hills, Army Wives and many more shows.
I have toured with and opened for some amazing artists like Ray LaMontagne, Damien Rice, Sondre Lerche, The Stereophonics, Jane Siberry, Carina Round, The Finn Brothers, Yoav and more. I even had a member of Radiohead compliment me on my performance after a show in Toronto. I have toured Canada several times and have toured extensively in the US and the UK as well. I performed at The Toronto International Film festival and have played SXSW, NXNE, CMW and NMW.
Last October (2007) my cover of a Neil Young song (along with covers by Ron Sexsmith, Barenaked Ladies etc.) was released as part of Broken Tunes II. All proceeds go to charity. Last fall I toured for three solid months promoting Faultline all over North America opening for Issa (Jane Siberry). This spring I toured the US and the UK and this summer I recorded my third full length album in Canada which I will release Spring 2009. In addition I will be releasing a series of 4 EP's (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall). The EP's will come out at the beginning of each season with the first one (Winter) to be released November 18, 2008. Winter will be available on itunes and at Borders stores.
ABOUT THE WINTER EP:
Born two days after Christmas, Adrienne Pierce has always had a personal affinity for the holiday season. Her EP "Winter" is a musical love letter to this special time of year. Recorded primarily in a cabin on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, this is a holiday release with both classic appeal and indie charm to spare. The four original Christmas songs are diverse in style but unified in theme and DIY approach . Adrienne is proud to have "Winter" available at Borders stores across the United States and on iTunes this November.
The EP starts with the soulful bounce of "All That We Want". Inspired by the sounds of Motown Christmas records of the 60s. The lyrics encourage listeners to "send love if that's all you have to send...spend time if that's all you have to spend". Next, the crisp strum of acoustic guitars and distant bells make "Raise Our Voices Up" and its evocative personification of inanimate Christmas objects all the more poignant.
Produced by and co-written with Sarah Mclachlan/Alanis Morissette keyboardist Vincent Jones, "Making Angels" injects a jolt of cheer with it's electro sheen and popping bass line. "Joy is Within Reach" is a more contemplative ode to remembering what is important during the oft over commercialized holiday season. "No need to deck the halls, forget the malls, let's go carolling," it urges against a backdrop of lush harmonies and instrumentation.
Pierce also has reverence for the ghost of Christmas past as evidenced by the two covers present. First is her dreamy interpretation of Vince Guaraldi's Peanuts staple, "Christmas Time is Here". In the singer's capable hands, the classic "Put a Little Love In Your Heart" becomes a rootsy sing along complete with accordion and glockenspiel.
Profits from the digital sales of the first song on the EP, "All That We Want" will be donated the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
