Dark Dark Dark, Radio Happy Hour with Tapes 'n Tapes, Chris Koza & Geoff Herbach, First Aid Kit, Dobet Gnahoré Tickets On Sale
On sale now are tickets for four fantastic shows, starting with Dark Dark Dark's illuminating Bright Bright Bright EP release (4/15), in a show that will not only feature the choir that helped out on the recording, but also music from kindred chamber folkies Spirits of the Red City, and Brett Bullion (of Tarlton). Get happy with the inaugural local production of Radio Happy Hour (10pm 4/24), a variety show featuring special guests Tapes 'n Tapes, Chris Koza, and Geoff Herbach, and lots of corny humor. It's no accident that First Aid Kit (6/9) are giving a show at The Cedar; the prodigiously talented teenage Swedish sisters Johanna and Klara Söderberg are getting hardened critics gushing ("gorgeous melodies and heart-melting harmonies." (NME 8/10)) over their debut album The Big Black and the Blue. And rounding out this quartet of shows, be sure to catch Cote d'Ivoire's Dobet Gnahoré (7/7) on her return visit. The singer and incredibly springy dancer shared a Grammy this year with India.Arie, and has a new album out in April, making this another West Africa West Bank show you can bank on.
Tickets go on sale at noon Fri Mar 12 from the Cedar Ticketline (612-338-2674 ext 2), Cedar outlets, and online at Ticketweb.
