Audience testimonials

"All the effort and hardship required to assemble the musicians from across Scandinavia for a weekend in Minneapolis are easily vindicated by one great performance after another in front of an eagerly receptive audience, many of whom have traveled a great distance and will happily do it again. I think I can speak for the rest of the audience in expressing my deepest gratitude to all the people who make the festival possible year after year, and are seeing to its continuation." Scott Gianelli

"To me, this Festival is an indispensable part of my musical calendar. This is such great and unique music, and unfortunately it no longer travels to the east coast of the U.S. So heading to Minneapolis every September is the next best thing." David Smith, RootsWorld

"Amazingly, I've found that I have something in common with Bill Gates. We both have been in the presence of great wealth. The treasures I have immersed myself in, however, far surpass the impermanence of money. The rich, musical language of two cultures,Sweden and Senegal, with a dash of American Appalachia filled my ears and graced my soul at the 5th annual Nordic Roots Festival held
recently at the Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The evening left me drenched in a peace-loving spirit." Susan Budig, WorldMusicCentral
