Given birth in the studio on Peter Ostroushko’s year 2000 Red House recording, Sacred Heart, hte Heartland band is now on the road. Tonight's performance by Peter Ostroushko and the Heartland Band will feature Peter Ostroushko (mandolin, fiddle, vocals, compositions), Dan Chouinard (piano and accordion), Dirk Freymuth (guitar), Ruth MacKenzie (vocals), Joel Sayles, (bass, vocals, compositions), and Marc Anderson (percussion). A collection of some of the best musicians in the business — many of whom have been featured on Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion. You can expect to hear original compositions by Peter Ostroushko and Joel Sayles as well as a broad range of Americana music, plus Finnish, blues and other vocals by Ruth MacKenzie, and vocals by Peter and Joel. Sacred Heart was the last in a trilogy of recordings composed by Peter Ostroushko, which began with Heart of the Heartland in 1995, and followed by Pilgrims on the Heart Road in 1997. Timeless, beautifully performed music from a master musician with top support to make a memorable evening.
