And as a thank you to the community who support us in so many ways throughout the year, we're making this event as accessible as possible: it will be absolutely free to attend the show (come early to be guaranteed entry), and like all Cedar shows, it will be all ages. We'll have tickets available for purchase for upcoming September and October shows, you can get full details on other Fall shows, and staff and board members will be on hand for you to meet and to receive your input. And this is a great opportunity for you to introduce The Cedar to friends, neighbors and family who somehow have never quite made it along here!

Roma Di Luna (husband and wife Alexei and Channy Moon Casselle) will be celebrating the release of their brand new CD, Find Your Way Home, which expands on their stunning debut EP Face of my Friends, yet continues to showcase the hauntingly beautiful and emotive vocals and fiddle of Channy, and the rock-solidly supportive guitar work and sharply contrasting vocals of Alexei.

Opening the evening will be JoAnna James, a singer from St Paul blessed with a voice and raw talent that allows her to belt out sultry soul tunes, tackle gritty blues numbers and quietly tender folk songs with equal impact--and earning her two consecutive Minnesota Music Awards "Female Vocalist of the Year" awards! Her April 2007 EP Back of my Mind (Eclectone) is a spare gem that has garnered JoAnna critical praise such as "Calm and collected, it's quite a contrast to her bubbling personality: a chance to hear the soul behind the smile. Her sultry ballads make my limbs quiver." (Vita-MN) and "JoAnna James' voice is immediately evocative, the sort of singularly expressive vehicle born to make hairs stand on end."
