“Big Thief’s quiet power propels songs of the flesh and soul. These are timeless songs, memorable and momentous.” – Bob Boilen, NPR Music
Brooklyn-based band Big Thief crafts a complex folk-indie musical soundscape anchored by the uniquely emotive and powerful voice of lead singer Adrianne Lenker, a Minnesotan native. On July 5th, Big Thief returned to The Cedar for a bashful but heartfelt homecoming, touring behind their latest album, Capacity. Interspersed between 90 minutes of music, Lenker spoke of playing The Cedar’s open mic nights as a teenager, and the complex feeling of figuring out where home is. Check of photos of the night, taken by Pat O’Loughlin, below.
