This text document contains a “Bird’s Eye View” for The Cedar Cultural Center.
Please let us know how this tool has helped you and if we can make any description improvements. All contact information for The Cedar is available at the bottom of this document. Let’s get started, using a screen reader, listen to the descriptions of the linked areas below and build the image in your mind’s eye.
For IOS Apple products: Apple Accessibility has assistive technology called, “VoiceOver.” It is an advanced screen reader programmed into macOS Sierra, and includes lists of VoiceOver commands. With VoiceOver enabled, just triple-click the Home button to access it wherever you are in iOS.
For Android: Google TalkBack is an accessibility service that helps blind and vision-impaired users interact with their devices on Android Devices. TalkBack adds spoken, audible, and vibration feedback to your device.
With a screen reader on, double tap screen to toggle pages. Top of the APP page you will notice an info button that provides links. Next, select the Refresh button to re-scan an area. The Trash can will delete the current page being shown in your APP. Press the Refresh button to receive that page again if you are still in proximity of that beacon.
Now, we always start the description from a strategic starting point. We will use the main entrance which is located on the east side of the building. After entering the main entrance and doors are behind you, you are now facing west and in the Main Lobby.
With main entrance doors behind you, you are facing west into the lobby. To your left or the south is a double glass door the leads out to the south patio. Normally this is where you can also purchase tickets. Be careful as this area does have a few portable tables and chairs for guests to use.
A portable table and two chairs are along back west wall. Immediately to the right is an information stand with flyers for upcoming events, agenda and information. Next to the right or the north is where you go if you already have tickets and meet with ticket attendant for entrance into performance hall. You can also purchase tickets here as well. After this continue to the right or north west down the hallway.
Next on your Right is a concession stand with customer service attendant.
