"Traditional Music, Reimagined" Roundtable Conversation

When traditional music is reimagined, what does it symbolize? Aar Maanta & the Urban Nomads (Somali pop qaraami) and Hoven Droven (Swedish folk rock) – two popular bands that take traditional music, reimagine it and use it to tell the stories of culture – come together with Ifrah Mansour (Somali multimedia artist, performer and educator) to talk about what their music symbolizes for them, their communities and the connection between Somalia and Sweden.

This FREE event will take place in Larson Hall, on the 2nd floor of the Nelson Cultural Center at American Swedish Institute.
