Somali, Syrian, and Chinese music united at the Somali Museum of Minnesota in April. Somali singer Dalmar Yare, Chinese pipa player Gao Hong, and Syrian oud player Issam Rafea joined forces for "Tracing The History of the Oud," a talk and performance about one of the oldest musical instruments in the world that has influenced music throughout the Middle East and Africa.
