ABOUT THIS SHOW

Celebrated singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and long-lost Christmas elf Ben Cook-Feltz hosts his 5th annual Holiday Shindig on December 14, a family-friendly event benefiting Rein In Sarcoma. The show will feature seasonal classics, playful and unique spins on holiday favorites, and selections from his 2020 release, Merry BCF-ing Christmas! In addition to Cook-Feltz and his all-star band (including members of Turn Turn Turn, the Wild Colonial Bhoys and Dave Mehling), the show will feature music from esteemed singer-songwriter Ann Reed and indie favorite Zippy Laske, as well as guest appearances by Doug Collins, Jaspar Lepak, Dan Gaarder, Mother Banjo, Katy Tessman and others. There will be storytelling, tap dancing, and a Christmas salute to Ozzy Osborne. A 30+ year sarcoma cancer survivor, Ben is honored to donate 100% of the event’s proceeds to Rein In Sarcoma, a nonprofit offering support and resources to those affected by sarcoma cancers.

Ben Cook-Feltz

Described by Iowa Public Radio as "Paul Simon singing songs about broken hearts and pants," Ben Cook-Feltz is a singer, songwriter, keyboardist and occasional drummer. Combining observational, subtly quirky lyrics with melodies that hearken back to the classic sounds of the 60′s and 70′s, he has been entertaining audiences throughout the Midwest as a dynamic performer, whether playing solo, with his crackerjack band, or backing up some of the finest regional talent (Mother Banjo, Haley E Rydell, Jaspar Lepak). His most recent record, Cook-Feltz Sings Son of Schmilsson, was released in August 2025 and was hailed as “expertise and precision at its finest; art with a limitless sense of fun” (Adventures in Americana). When not indulging in his rockstar delusions, Cook-Feltz is a devoted father, cycling enthusiast and lifelong Godzilla fan.

Ann Reed

Beloved Minnesota songwriter, singer, guitarist and author Ann Reed has been performing for more than 40 years with her rich, dark-chocolate voice, storytelling from the human experience, and songs that find a permanent place in the heart. Of course some of her songs and stories might end up closer to your funny bone - a little irreverence never hurt anyone. Ann has toured North America coast to coast, doing concerts, clubs, festivals, and she's met wonderful fans and made friends all along the way. You may have heard her on A Prairie Home Companion or playing one of her many State Fair inspired songs on Minnesota Public Radio. Better yet, you may have attended one of Ann's concerts, where her rich vocals, masterful guitar work, and keen wit are center stage.
