ABOUT THIS SHOW
2022 Cedar Commissions artist Carlisle Evans Peck returns to The Cedar stage to celebrate the release of their new album, with support from McKain Lackey and Proper-T.
CARLISLE EVANS PECK
A musical magician or magical musician, modern queer bard Carlisle Evans Peck delivers their captivating songs upon rocky shoreline of Lake Superior and smoky amber spotlight of the cabaret stage. With a commanding voice and lush composition, their versatile and incisive stylized performance makes the personal mythical and mythologies individual. A queer glam-folk-rock musical style, they transcend music theater and bardic balladry, deftly evading classification like ghostly forms dancing just out of sight.

McKain Lakey
Described by What’s Up Magazine as “a time capsule unearthed, fine-tuned and re-imagined”, McKain Lakey draws creative inspiration from far corners of the American folk music tradition. Lakey blurs lines of old and new, referencing musical textures of past eras while unabashedly exploring topics of mental health, family separation, rural identity and queer love.
