Welcome to RZ Shahid & Friends: a night celebrating the music of RZ Shahid and his talented friends. In a lineup built to uplift Black talent and music in Minnesota, expect a blend of Reggae, Hip-Hop & R&B from some of your hometown heroes, guaranteed to make you move your feet and nod your head. Come out for a night of stars who all shine in their own light.
RZ Shahid
RZ Shahid is a multifaceted artist and creative entrepreneur who uses music, storytelling, and visual art to craft immersive experiences that captivate and inspire. Based in Minnesota, RZ has established themselves as a vibrant figure in the arts scene, performing across the state and contributing to celebrated projects such as The Cedar Commissions (2024) and the Art Shanty Projects.
A dedicated creator, RZ Shahid’s musical journey has been marked by several notable releases: the JTTX tape (2018), Leadfoot EP (2019), and the Ahh Shii project (2020). After a brief hiatus from major releases, RZ returned to the stage with The Cedar Commissions beginning of 2024. & from there dropped 3 ep’s in 2025 (MOTION, SUMN TO SAY, Free Flowin), & dropped the single TOMO (2026) recently leading up to their anticipated ep titled “Drifting”.
RZ’s artistry extends beyond music. Shortly after graduating from yoga teacher training, they embraced an artist residency in Lanesboro, where they explored the intersection of creativity and mindfulness, & recently ran their first marathon. This holistic approach to their craft reflects their mission to create work that resonates deeply with both the mind and the heart.
As the founder of Art Of Xanadu, RZ Shahid champions a vision of art as a sanctuary and a catalyst for empowerment. Through their creative ventures, RZ continues to redefine what it means to merge authenticity, innovation, and community in the modern artistic landscape.
Jandeltha Rae
Jandeltha Rae (Jan-DEL-The Ray) is a multi-hyphenate storyteller from the southside of Minneapolis. Her art forms include but are not limited to poetry, music, songwriting, painting and more.Her work centers around culture, identity, black liberation, love, healing and womanhood. Much of the passion behind her work is driven by the advancement of black and brown individuals, and also women’s rights. It is her desire to amplify ethnic and urban experiences through her gift. She is a modern griot with stories to tell, with music being her most recent medium.
Righteous Emcee
From style to presence, Righteous Emcee is Hip Hop! Hailing from the southside of Chicago, residing in Twin Cities, MN he absorbed everything around him like a sponge. He used those things as inspiration to fuel his love for music. He is like no other artist. He possesses a style that is unique but still familiar to core Hip Hop fans. His hard hitting flow and lyrical prowess over dope instrumentation is truly a recipe for greatness!
Brandyn Lee Tulloch
Brandyn Lee Tulloch and Poetic Roots are inspired by the rhythms and grooves of reggae and funk from the late 70s and early 80s. They believe the message of the music is as important as the sound, and use art as a means to move the masses physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
