ABOUT THIS SHOW

St. Rangers celebrates the release of their debut EP Witness Marks, a collection of new folk tunes perfectly suited to autumn's final weeks. Formed by Garret Nasset and Rachel Bearinger within the vibrant Twin Cities songwriter scene, St. Rangers offers songs crafted with the precision of a chisel, with arrangements that lock into place with satisfying comfort. The band is delighted to share the stage with local folk-bluegrass duo LaPlant Road.

ST. RANGERS

Through gently rollicking rhythms and heartfelt melodies, St. Rangers paints vignettes of lost eras, hometown fables, and antique-store nostalgia. The band (Rachel Bearinger (guitar), Garret Nasset (banjo), Josh Peterson (viola), Olivia May (bass)) draws upon the poignant simplicity of Gillian Welch, the shoulder-punch familiarity of John Prine, and the multilayered harmonies of I'm With Her, delivering songs that fit like a well-worn glove.

LaPlant Road

LaPlant Road is the duo of two childhood friends, Emily LaPlant and Liz Ashworth, who grew up in the tundra of Northern Minnesota. They found warmth and purpose in the music shared by the dwellers of LaPlant Road, a place named after early settlers who established themselves in the area a century prior. Together, Liz and Emily work to create new sounds, incorporating influence from their favorite genres, and crafting an audio ode to many of the best things in their childhood: music, family, and friends. Both ladies are multi-instrumentalists with a dynamic, harmonious vocal blend.
