ABOUT THIS SHOW

After their packed 2025 Minneapolis debut, Ukraine’s legendary Vopli Vidopliassova return on January 15, 2026 for an unforgettable Malanka Night at The Cedar Cultural Center!

Celebrate the Ukrainian New Year with VV’s explosive mix of punk, folk, and global grooves. This is part of the band’s epic 40th Anniversary World Tour — and one of the most joyful, high-energy shows of the season.

Each Malanka concert includes a charity auction led by Oleg Skrypka himself to support Misto Dobra (City of Goodness) — Ukraine’s largest children’s hospice for war-affected orphans and families.

Після аншлагового дебюту в Міннесоті у 2025 році, легендарні Воплі Відоплясова повертаються до Міннеаполіса 15 січня 2026 із незабутнім вечором Маланки у Cedar Cultural Center!

Vopli Vidopliassova

Founders of Ukrainian Rock. Icons of Global Resistance.
globalFEST 2026 Artist

For 40 years, Oleg Skrypka and Vopli Vidopliassova (VV) have led the sound of modern Ukrainian music. Born in Soviet Kyiv’s underground scene, VV fused punk, folk, and art-rock into a revolutionary voice for a new generation. They pioneered Ukrainian-language rock and helped shape Eastern European ethnic rock on the international stage.

VV was the first Ukrainian band to tour globally, building a multi-generational following across Europe and North America. Frontman Oleg Skrypka is hailed as the "Godfather of Ukrainian Rock," and artists like Eugene Hutz of Gogol Bordello call VV his artistic “teachers.”

Their collaborations span genres and continents—Manu Chao, Khaled, Gogol Bordello, Hazmat Modine, Lemon Bucket Orkestra, and Les Hurlements d'Léo. From WOMAD and Sziget to Montreux, VV’s high-energy shows are cultural celebrations of joy, rebellion, and resilience.
