ABOUT THIS SHOW
Danish musician, composer, and producer ML Buch makes her Minnesota debut at The Cedar this Summer. Layering clean, 7-string guitar tones in open tunings over ethereal digital landscapes, ML Buch creates an immersive sound that references dream pop & shoegaze.
ML Buch
ML Buch is Copenhagen-based composer and producer Marie Louise Buch. Through striking motifs and a sincere attention to spatial and timbral detail, her music presents both the playful and the uncanny with a great sense of clarity. The compositional process is characterised by deconstructing and reassembling musical ideas, aspiring to sculpt them into their truest form whether in songs or instrumental pieces.
Her most recent album ‘Suntub’ was released as a double LP in 2023, expanding on the minimalistic yet profound expressions introduced on her debut album ‘Skinned’ from 2020. Since then, ML Buch has performed at the likes of ICA (London), Rewire (Hague), Unsound (Krakow), Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Pitchfork Music Festival (Chicago), Roskilde Festival (Roskilde, DK), Pioneer Works (NYC) and Volksbühne (Berlin) as well as performing as part of Laurie Anderson’s Talking Choir project.
